„Und alles, alles, alles war wieder gut“ („And everything, everything, everything was good again“) is the last line, sung by a middle-aged male choir, which opens „You are the Center of the World“. A horse roams around, its hooves clattering in the driveway of the neat detached house. The three young men look around, wandering through the deserted streets. They finally end up in a living room. Waiting and pausing, they listen to the silence. Where are the other people? Something is no longer right out there. The small town becomes a stage for the three local teenagers, who allow the camera to observe them and „perform“. An explicitly cinematic-referential visual world is opened up in which the characters move and act.
